I decided to write a book on oil painting techniques because my students continuously asked me to, so that they could have a readily available handbook of the solutions I proposed during my lessons on the subject. My lessons were practical and based on possibilities. Each student brought their own passion and abilities resulting in their acquisition of an ancient technique shaped around their natural predispositions. I studied many years to teach myself the techniques of the Great Masters of the past. I went to museums copying old paintings, studying manuals and author’s notes to understand how to create outcomes, keeping the later use of glazing and brushstrokes in mind. I even attempted mixed media techniques, as the Great Master Turner had once done, using watercolor to achieve unprecedented color tones. I practiced these painting exercises for many years as an authentic study of technique. I consequently came to deeply understand the immense quality of painting the Great Masters possessed, their techniques so often cloaked in secrets and mystery.
I frequently had students who would never have taken up painting if they hadn’t had the opportunity to study various techniques under my method. I am convinced that it isn’t true that if you’ve never painted before, you can’t start now or at any age ever. It also isn’t true that if you don’t know how to draw you will never be able to accomplish anything in the art of painting. This book teaches the art of painting through the oil painting technique. In it all the problems of artistic painting are addressed. We start with the equipment, the materials, up to the creation of figurative paintings: still life, landscape, portrait. The exercises are accompanied by numerous explanatory photos and videos. In the text there are 400 photos and 24 videos. The book has approximately 400 pages. All topics are treated in a simple and in-depth manner.

Cos è la letteratura elettronica?
Nell’era dei computer e di internet, di google, facebook, youtube, dei videogame, degli smartphone e dei tablet, come il popolare iPad, come sta cambiando la letteratura? I lavori del convegno: OLE Officina di Letteratura Elettronica e della relativa mostra (tenutasi al PAN Palazzo delle Arti di Napoli, nei mesi di gennaio/febbraio 2011) danno una risposta esauriente e autorevole attraverso il pensiero dei più illustri artisti e studiosi del fenomeno.
L’arte contemporanea ha già iniziato la sua trasformazione adattandosi alle nuove tecnologie e proponendo nuove tecniche e pratiche artistiche. La letteratura sembra essere in ritardo. Quanto il mercato è colpevole di un tale ritardo? Perché in Italia si paga un prezzo così alto per il progresso culturale.
